# Fitly AI vs Hevy

*Hevy is a great workout log. It just does not know what you ate.*

## What Hevy gets right

Hevy is very good at the thing it does: fast set entry, a rest timer where your thumb already is, and history that answers "what did I lift last time" at a glance, and Pro is inexpensive. The social side (followers, shared workouts, leaderboards, all free) is a real feature, and for many people it is what keeps them logging. Fitly has no equivalent and is not trying to.

## Where the two diverge

Hevy has no food logging, no calorie or macro tracking, by design. That focus is why the app stays clean, and it also means that if you care about body composition, Hevy is one half of your setup. Fitly holds training and nutrition in the same context: finish a session and it knows what protein you have left; mention a sore shoulder and next push day is rewritten; describe a meal in plain English and the macros are logged.

The other difference is who writes the program. In Hevy you build routines yourself, with Hevy Trainer adding adaptive progression on Pro. In Fitly you describe the goal, equipment and injuries, and the agent writes and adapts the program.

## Side by side

| Feature | Hevy | Fitly AI |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Workout logging | Excellent, fast, uncluttered | Full logging across reps, weighted, timed, cardio, carry |
| Nutrition tracking | None, by design | Text, voice, photo, barcode, label |
| Program creation | You build it; adaptive progression on Pro | Agent writes and adapts it |
| Injury/equipment awareness | Manual | Stored in profile, respected everywhere |
| Apple Watch & Apple Health | A real Apple Watch app: log sets from your wrist | No watch app; finished workouts and weigh-ins sync in from Apple Health |
| Social / leaderboards | A genuine strength, free | Not a social app |
| Price | Genuine free tier (capped routines) plus a low-cost Pro subscription; considerably cheaper than Fitly | $9.99/mo without AI, $24.99/mo with; no free tier |

Hevy feature comparison reflects the app as of August 2026.

## About the price gap

Hevy is much cheaper than Fitly: an inexpensive Pro subscription with a lifetime option, against $24.99/month for Fitly AI with no free tier. We deliberately do not quote exact Hevy prices here (they are sold in-app and vary by region); see https://www.hevyapp.com/ for current rates. The two are priced against different things: Hevy as a best-in-class single-purpose logger, Fitly against the stack it replaces, with real per-user model cost on every message. If your setup is Hevy plus a free tracker and you are happy, Fitly is a hard sell on price alone.

## When you should stay with Hevy

- **You only care about lifting.** Hevy is cheaper and its set-logging interface is better than ours at that specific job.
- **The social features are why you log.** Consistency beats sophistication, and Fitly has no answer here.
- **You want to write your own programming.** Hevy stays out of the way; Fitly is opinionated by design.
